Essential Oils for Romance

Have you tried using essential oils in the bedroom?  They can be a great addition to help inspire romance!!

In the bedroom, you can use essential oils topically or aromatically.

Certain scents are shown to have powerful effect on our olfactory lobe, which is part of the limbic system that houses sexual desires – as well as memories and emotions. Essential oils can certainly help get you in the mood!

To use essential oils aromatically in the bedroom, get your diffuser up and running!  What a great way to experience the benefits!!

You can also use essential oils topically on the skin.  Essential oils absorb through the skin, enter the bloodstream and can have an  affect on the body very quickly.

We only use Young Living essential oils because we feel they are the most pure oils and love that Young Living owns their own farms and distilleries around the globe!

Here are some of my favorite oils for love and romance!  I like diffusing, adding to bath salts or adding to a massage oil!

Ylang Ylang

Ylang Ylang has a faintly sweet floral scent similar to gardenia or plumeria. It has been used as an aphrodisiac and used to cover the beds of newly married couples in India on their wedding night. Ylang Ylang can help a woman feel more in the mood and men tend to respond well to the scent.

It’s no surprise that Young Living blends like Sensation and Joy, which both help to promote romance, contain Ylang Ylang. It has long been used to calm anxiety, fear, frigidity and improve self esteem.

I love to diffuse Ylang Ylang to set a romantic mood, apply topically (diluted with a carrier oil) and applied to chest, inner thighs…wherever!!

Sensation

Sensation is a Young Living blend made with coriander, ylang ylang, bergamot, jasmine and geranium, Sensation smells fragrant and exotic. Just like the name implies, it’s very romantic, arousing and helps to amplify a little excitement in the bedroom. The ylang ylang and coriander together with the other essential oils really helps to set the mood – especially when applied to delicate areas, like the inner thighs.

Cypress

Cypress is a single oil distilled from the branches of the cypress tree.  Both men and women like to use this oil in the bedroom because when you apply Cypress topically it can support healthy blood circulation.

Clary Sage

Clary Sage has a mild, warm herbal scent that is relaxing and helps to promote inner balance and reduce stress.  This is a wonderful oil to add to a massage to help get in the mood!  It has natural phytoestrogens as well.  (Google benefits of clary sage for more great information!)

Idaho Blue Spruce

Idaho Blue Spruce is an exclusive oil that is distilled directly from Young Living’s St. Maries farm in Idaho.  It is a very masculine scent and smells amazing!

Mixing Idaho Blue Spruce and Ylang Ylang together in a massage oil really can help both parties get in the mood!

Black Pepper and Peppermint

Black Pepper gives a little heat and Peppermint cools things off.  These two oils are wonderful added to massage oil (like coconut) and applied to inner thighs.

Goldenrod

Goldenrod is a favorite with men!  It helps support healthy circulation and well…the name sort of says it all!

Shutran

Shutran is a fabulous blend of Idaho Blue spruce, Ocotea, Ylang ylang, Hinoki, Coriander, Davana, Lavender, Cedarwood, Lemon and Northern Lights Black spruce. It was created to help a man catch a lady's attention.

You can use it as a cologne for you man, add it to homemade aftershave, shave cream or beard oil!

No matter which ones you choose, adding essential oil to your romantic routine is sure to kick things up a notch!  Do you have a favorite?  If so, let us know in the comments!!
