Who doesn't love taco night? It is a favorite in our house! It became a little tricky, however, when we transitioned to a more nourishing food diet and I just couldn't serve my family those gross little packs of taco seasoning. Have you ever read the back label of one of those things? Yikes!!

I love making this homemade seasoning mix. It tastes great and I can adjust it for different uses…adding more garlic if I want a garlicky kick, spicing it up with some cayenne…whatever I want!!

I like to make this in bulk as having it ready to go makes it so easy!! The recipe is for an 8 ounce container but you can make it in as large of a jar as you would like!

I just use about 2 tablespoons of my homemade taco seasoning per pound of meat.  I then add 1/2-1 cup of bone broth for my liquid.  You can use water if you like.  Sometimes I add a tbsp of arrowroot powder or GMO-free cornstarch if I feel I need my taco meat to be thicker.

I hope you enjoy our homemade taco seasoning and can make your Taco Night a little healthier!

  1. I make a very hot version of Fire Cider each spring, letting it mature to smoothness over the summer. After I drain the peppers and garlic and horseradish and whatever else I’ve tossed it that batch, I dehydrate, then grind to powder. Great for tacos, chili con carne, omelettes, salad topping, whatever 😉
