Glad this is helpful, Sonia! I definitely feel that SOME changes are better than none. I also think it is a slippery slope (in a good way)...the more changes you make...the more you make. Does that make sense? That stinks that your spouse isn't on board. Maybe you can show him research and information on this blog and other sites to help him cross over to the good side? ;) Good luck! /tm

This is very helpful! I'm slowly making changes. I love your non-pressure approach and the idea that SOME changes are better than none. Do any of you have spouses who are not on board? I can't convince my husband that Skippy is crap and that real peanut butter TASTES better. Luckily, I was able to convince my 7-year-old daughter :)

From my understanding it is super processed and essentially almost all fructose. It gained such HUGE popularity for a brief period of time. There are so many other good sweeteners to choose from that have more nutritional value! (which is why we only gave it 1 skillet rating...but some people may think it should be avoided). Generally I (Tamara) use raw honey, good maple syrup, stevia (for lemonade and some other uses), palm sugar and organic cane sugar (for some baking and making kombucha).
