I have thought about a treadmill desk but I am unsure how I would like that. I have been able to get 10,000 steps most day but definitely have to work at it. The days I haven't made it so far are ones I have been sick with strep throat (boo!!!).

10k steps a day is quite hard (at least for me), so far I have only been able to get to that number once. I know you mentioned standing desks, have you thought about adding a treadmill? Something made for standing desks? That may help you reach the 10k steps without really thinking about it.

Yes, those are the kinds of things I am going to need to do! The little steps do add up! I am trying to walk up and down the stairs and make laps around my house every 30 minutes or so! Thank you for posting!!

I have a FitBit too and I also had trouble reaching my 10,000 steps a day. Prepping food for a wholesome dinner takes so much time. Add to that my toddler who likes to cuddle and afternoons packed with sports for my boys and I was lucky to hit 5,000. I try fitting in an hour walk with the stroller and the dog, but that's not always do-able. So I just started walking laps around my kitchen island. I spend a ton of time in my kitchen and there are always downtimes in the cooking process. Stuff needs to marinate for a bit, things in the oven, break in doing the dishes...wherever I find a small block of time, I start doing laps. It's only 15 steps around, but add up enough time and I've done 5 miles around that island in a day. My family thinks I'm crazy. And if you don't focus on something (for me, the tv) while walking around, you get dizzy. But it works. You don't need to be walking actual long distances, you just need to get in your steps. :)
