If you recall, I recently posted a recipe for a homemade after shave! I got to thinking, if I can make an after shave for my husband, why not make a homemade shaving cream?! How hard can it be?
Turns out it isn't hard. However, finding a shaving cream that my husband will actually use IS hard. The thing is, he likes to use a shave soap with a brush. Any cream that I make is a far cry from his shave soap. I thought I would make a homemade shaving cream anyway. Because all of you deserve a recipe for this! Do a quick google search for toxins in shaving cream and the results will have you throwing out those shaving cream cans faster than I can say Polytetrafluorethylene. Its a thing. Look it up.
Bottom line is I don't want ya'll lathering up your skin with all of these toxins. Your biggest organ will be soaking it all up, right into your awesome body. No. Just no. I love you too much.
My husband's review was better than I was expecting, since he is a shave soap fan. He admitted that he wasn't used to the creamy feel of the homemade shaving cream, but that it did a good job with his regular razor. However, when he used his safety razor, things got dicey. It just clogged his razor too much. So, if you are a safety razor user, this cream might give you some hassle. However, if you use a regular razor, go crazy! Also, be aware, that if you use this in the shower, things get slippery. Pay attention!!
Do you have a favorite homemade shaving cream recipe that you love? What about shave soap? I need to give that a go too.
And another thing. I bet you want to get rid of ALL the toxins in your medicine cabinet, don't you? Don't worry, we've got you covered. Download this PDF and you will be on your way to detoxifying your personal care items!
