I love the smells of apples, cinnamon, allspice and clove wafting through the kitchen in the winter. Sitting by a warm fire, sipping spiced apple cider is a delightful way to spend an evening. Even better is to add a splash of Applejack or other brandy to the cider…yum!
Kendahl from Our Nourishing Roots has a wonderfully festive recipe for spiced apple
cider. She kindly is letting us post her recipe for apple cider from her comprehensive and delightful e-book, Natural Cocktails.

This sounds yummy, similar to my favorite holiday bev, wassail. Nourished Kitchen has one that calls for eggs that I plan to try this year.

I love hot mulled apple cider and hot chocolate from Williams-Sonoma.
So delicious!!!
I <3 egg nog! (And wine… but that's all year!)
Yes, I am a wine-o too 😉
My fave would have to be hot toddys.
I have never actually had a hot toddy. But, there is a good looking recipe for one in this book!
I just concocted a drink last night. 3 parts godiva white chocolate caramel liquor, 1 part grey goose vodka and a splash of peppermint schnapps. Served in a martini glass with a mini candy cane hung on the rim. It was a hit with my summer tennis team for pre-drinking AND as a substitute for dessert.
Um…that sounds delicious!! And, if you win this book, you will find ways to make your own liqueurs that aren’t filled with fake ingredients!!!!
Hot apple cider is a must!
agreed!
Definitely Spiked Hot Cider!
Although I LOVE spiked apple cider, I am an eggnog girl- only around Christmas! My favorite is the Puerto RIcan (spiked) version, called Coquito.
