You know I love getting kids in the kitchen!  I really think it is the best way to get kids to be interested in eating healthier food.  Giving a child the tools and independence to cook for themselves is a gift that will last forever!

I feel strongly that it is my role as a parent, to help my daughter learn how to nourish her body and mind with real food.  Believe me, my daughter eats her share of junk, but I want to help her learn that real food is good food!

Last month, I posted our first Kid's Kitchen and my daughter demonstrated making her go to peanut butter and jelly sandwich!  This month, she chose to make a fruit salad.

Given the proper tools and easy to work with fruits, any child can make their own fruit salad!  Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • Soft fruit, easy to cut or peel
  • Examples: bananas, clementine oranges, berries, grapes, ripe mango, etc.
  • Combine all fruit in bowl and enjoy!

I love this crinkle cutter.  My daughter cuts a lot of things with it.  She learned to use it when she was 3 years old in Montessori school!
