Essential oils are a very powerful tool to keep in your healthy lifestyle toolbox. One of the easiest ways to use them is to inhale essential oils to get the benefits directly into the body.
Many people do this with a diffuser, a spray or simply inhaling from a bottle. One of my favorite ways is to make my own essential oil nasal inhaler. They are so easy and so convenient!
What is a Nasal Inhaler?
Well they are sold as nasal blanks and have a cotton wick inside. They come with a base, a wick, an inhaler and a cover.
You add your oils to the wick, cap it and inhale as needed. It is so super easy!!
Using nasal blanks to inhale essential oils is a handy way to keep your favorite concoctions and recipes on hand all the time!
I love to make a variety of nasal inhalers to keep on hand. I find 6-8 drops of essential oil is all I need and they last for months!
I typically just buy these plain white medical grade nasal blanks but you can find them in different colors and even find metal ones as well.
Why Inhale Essential Oils?
You can use essential oils in 3 different ways: topically (applying to skin), internally (as a dietary supplement if they are labeled as such) and aromatically (inhaling through nose).
Essential oils are the highly concentrated, aromatic essences of trees, shrubs, herbs, grasses, resins and flowers. Essential oils are greaseless and not like the other ‘oils’ you have in your home like olive oil or coconut oil for example.
Essential oils are the plant’s natural defense and protective mechanisms. They work the same in our bodies as they do in nature.
Essential oils can purify the air naturally and their aroma can have a positive impact on our mood and overall well-being. The fastest way to your mood center is through your nose.
There is a great deal of research on the aromatic use of essential oils available.
You can diffuse essential oils. You can inhale directly from the bottle. You can put a few drops on your hand and inhale. You can add some drops to hot water and breathe in the steamy vapors. You can use a nasal inhaler!
Diffuse essential oils in your car rather than using toxic car air “fresheners” with fake fragrances. You can buy special car diffusers or just put a few drops of your chosen oil on a cotton ball, tissue or a wooden clothespin, and place in or clip to the car’s AC vent!
Remember – with every therapeutic-grade essential oil that you inhale, you are uplifting your mind, body, and spirit! This is NOT TRUE with chemically-made perfumes and products that create a toxic load on our bodies!
I use oils in a variety of ways in my home, but I find it easiest to simply inhale essential oils.
