Soft Skin Sugar Scrub Recipe with Relaxing Essential Oils - www.ohlardy.com

I love a good salt or sugar scrub recipe.  Nothing feels so good as silky, soft skin!  I used to go and get professional salt scrubs done at fancy spas and salons but if you find a good recipe, you can save $100s of dollars and scrub your own body down!!

I have been having so much fun making homemade beauty and home products with Young Living Essential Oils, like lip balm, lotion, facial serum and homemade air fresheners.  This is just one more in the mix!

I usually prefer making a sugar scrub vs salt as I find it a little easier on my skin. Plus, I never time shaving my legs and using the salt scrub right. If you have ever used a salt scrub within 12-24 hours of freshly shaved legs…YIKES! It burns like the dickens!

The fun thing about this recipe is you can use whatever carrier oil and essential oils you like!  I tend to use either Sweet Almond or Fractionated Coconut oil as my carrier but use what you like best.

You can pick Essential Oils that are relaxing, soothing to the skin, energizing, whatever you desire!  For my sugar scrub recipe, I have been using Lavender because it smells divine!!!  I love to use it at night when I shower before bed.  I feel so relaxed!  But use whatever combos you like!!

This also makes a great hand scrub during the cold and dry winter months!

Now normally I recommend glass containers and stay away from plastic (if you are using citrus essential oils, I would definitely use glass).  BUT, I keep sugar scrubs in my shower and the idea of me or my family members knocking over a glass jar in the shower freaks me out!  So I find plastic to be a bit safer!
