Beginning a 3 Week Cleanse – The Superwoman Slim Down

I have had a great summer.  We went on some fabulous trips, swam, played, rode bikes, went to barbecues, attended concerts and sporting events, ate a lot of good food and had too many alcoholic beverages.  Now I feel bloated, tired, brain foggy, moody and just overall yucky.  

I was targeting September 1 as a perfect day to start a 3 week cleanse.  (I wasn't taking Labor Day festivities into consideration…oh well!)  Summer is coming to a close and our regular schedule is taking shape.  Plus I turn 40 at the end of the month and would like to enter my 40s feeling and looking as good as possible.  I always feel better when I am eating real food, detoxing, exercising and drinking less alcohol.  I can't wait to get there again!

I have been eyeing the Superwoman Slim Down, a 3 week cleanse from my friend Kristen Boucher, who writes over at Mix Wellness.  She is a Registered Nurse and a Health and Wellness Coach.  She inspires busy women to kick cravings, stress less, cook delicious meals, increase energy and countless more!  

What is the Superwoman Slim Down?

Week One

For week one, I will be easing into the cleanse.  I am going to be eliminating foods that can be aggravating to the body such as gluten, sugar, alcohol, caffeine, corn, soy etc.  The past week I have been weaning myself off of coffee in the morning, so hopefully that will go smoothly.  I plan on using this coffee substitute, Dandy Blend, to get me through!  I am also allowed 2 cups of green tea a day so have stocked up on that too!

Then week two is a little more intense with all aggravating foods eliminating and a bit of a stricter protocol!

In addition to dietary changes, I am going to be focusing on exercise and movement, detox techniques such as oil pulling, drinking green drinks and dry brushing.  I am also going to use my Young Living Essential Oils to help with the cleanse, such as add lemon essential oil and Juva Cleanse oil blend to my daily morning water and taking detox baths and steams.  

I am so excited and also a bit nervous.  I have done cleanses before and always feel so great after but the first week can be tough!

What I love about the Superwoman Slim Down is Kristen gives so much information and support.  There are recorded calls to listen to throughout the cleanse, a private Facebook group and tons of handouts, recipe guides, supplement suggestions, meal plans, a journal to write your thoughts and feelings and more.  I have read through everything, gone to the grocery store to stock up on the foods I need and am ready to go.  I think being ready with foods that are cleanse friendly will help me have a variety of choices to choose from.
